Obstetrics and Gynaecology

Currently I am working as a Consultant at Barnsley NHS Foundation Trust at a fixed term contract. I have continued to provide holistic care to my patients with passion. The post has given me opportunity to hone my leadership and management skills. I am on GMC Specialist Register. I completed comprehensive specialty training in Obstetrics & Gynaecology in Pakistan and got Fellowship by College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan in 1995. Following that I worked in Middle East as Specialist for more than ten years. I gained vast experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. I relocated to England in 2009. I have been performing most elective and emergency Gynaecology surgeries (both open and laparoscopic), hysteroscopy & endometrial ablation/resection/fibroid resection competently. I bring high level of clinical experience in dealing complex cases such as difficult abdominal hysterectomies, myomectomies and laparoscopies. I have great interest in quality and service improvement and have led many service improvements projects. I am very proud of development of new service delivery model” Women’s Half Hour”. It transformed the services by reducing the needs for ward beds, rapid patient turnover, and a positive experience in women requiring surgical management of miscarriage. I demonstrated excellent leadership skills by effective communication, empathy and harnessing motivation within the team.
